The port hole design is known but very hard to obtain. When it is offered it is almost always offered by itself. This is an opportunity to obtain a complete artifact with the original housing. The number of times this complete artifact has been offered in the last 20 year can be counted on one hand. It is just that rare. About 2 1/4" tall from point to point. Metal tabs on the reverse hold the port hole in place. The Grant ferro is perfect with no defect observed. The Colfax is near perfect with only a darkened area to the extreme right which appears to be a very old water stains which started on the port hole frame as you can see. We view this as minor and can be likely cleaned. The port hole by itself has mostly sold within a $1,000-$2,000 range with the higher end prices for those in excellent condition. We have not found any examples which had the complete housing. This estimate may very well be conservative. This lot has a reserve significantly less than the estimate. Estimate: $1,500-$2,000

Note: The reserve has been met.
