There are so many elements contained in this 7 7/8” x 9 7/8” printed one sided page it would be very hard to itemize with any clarity. Needless to say, an inspection of all parts of this cartoon will unveil and number of campaigning features. The caption at the bottom says “A View of the Arch erected on Main St. corner of Fourth, Cincinnati, at the Grand Rally Oct. 1st . 1840.” One of the earliest cartoons which shows a rally in progress. Clearly pro-Harrison with a number of banners and signs containing slogans including at the top of the background building in the center which included an American flag with “Harrison & Tyler” on it. Just a great item. Ideal size for a frame and would exhibit very well. In really ice condition with toning overall, a few small spots and waviness of the paper. There is another blank paper of the same size which has been used as a backing paper but this is not attached and appears to have never been attached. Estimate: $400-500
